The Venue
Zoë Hora
Our wedding will be held at Zoë Hora, a boutique hotel built directly into the old stone village of Dhërmi — a village that's stood for roughly 500 years.
Rather than sitting apart from Dhërmi, Zoë Hora is built through it — restored stone buildings, cobbled pathways, and rooms scattered across the historic village, all overlooking the Ionian Sea.

While We're in Albania
We're still finalizing our travel plans, but we'll be in Dhërmi for a few days before and after the wedding. We'll share those plans with the group closer to the date for anyone who'd like to join us. Come for as much or as little as you'd like!

We won't lie: getting to Dhërmi takes a little bit of effort. But we promise, it's worth it.
Dhërmi sits along one of the most beautiful stretches of the Albanian Riviera. Our wedding venue, Zoë Hora, was recently featured in Condé Nast Traveler (one of the world's biggest travel publications).
Albania is quickly becoming one of Europe's most talked-about destinations, so consider this your excuse to experience it before everyone else does. And lucky for you, you have your own personal Albanian tour guide.
We've done the research (and plenty of the traveling) for you. Below is a simple guide to the three decisions you'll need to make, in order.
There are two main ways we recommend getting here. But either way, we recommend making a trip out of it and stopping at a few spots along the way.
Good to know: you don't have to fly in and out of the same city. Many people are flying into Tirana and out of Corfu (or vice versa), which lets you see more of the region without doubling back.
Option One
Fly into Tirana Our Pick
Best for: an Albanian road trip
Fly into Tirana International Airport (TIA) and make your way south to Dhërmi. This is the trip Aurora did with her parents last summer to test it out for everyone.

Make a Trip of It — Tirana → Berat → Vlorë → Dhërmi

Stay a night in Albania's capital.
🏨 Hotel recommendation: La Suite Boutique (family-owned. Walls are a little thin, just FYI).

Berat Must-See
Next, head south to Berat, Albania's UNESCO-listed "City of a Thousand Windows." Spend a night wandering the old town, visit the castle, and have dinner overlooking the city.
🏨 Hotel recommendation: White House Berat (affordable, great location, 10/10 recommend).

Vlorë
From Berat, continue on to Vlorë, a lively coastal city where the Adriatic and Ionian Seas meet. It's also the start of the drive over Llogara Pass, one of the most scenic mountain roads in Albania.
🏨 Hotel recommendation: Liro (the hotel that was featured on Aurora's Instagram story that everyone asked about. Stunning location, but again, the walls are a little thin, and it's a bit of a party hotel).

From Vlorë, wind up and over Llogara Pass and down into the Albanian Riviera. Check into Dhërmi, the location of our wedding!
Option Two
Fly into Corfu, Greece
Best for: Greece + the Albanian Riviera
Fly into Corfu, spend a few days there, then cross the Ionian Sea into Albania.
Make a Trip of It — Corfu → Sarandë → Gjirokastër → Dhërmi
Corfu
Spend a few days swimming, eating and exploring the island before catching the ferry to Albania.

This is your first stop in Albania. Stay the night if you'd like to explore, or simply use it as your landing port into the Albanian Riviera. If you are looking for places to visit near here, Ksamil and Butrint, which are just south of Sarandë, are spectacular.

Gjirokastër Must-See
From Sarandë, it's about an hour inland to Gjirokastër, a UNESCO World Heritage stone city built into a hillside, known for its Ottoman-era architecture and its hilltop castle.

If You Wanted to Travel to Northern Albania
Albania is a surprisingly diverse country depending on which direction you head — the north has the Albanian Alps, alpine lakes, and more historical towns, quite different from the coastal south where our wedding is. If you have extra time, I'd suggest checking out Theth, Lake Komani, and Shkodër. A homestay in Theth is a must (or at least it's high on my own list) — I haven't done it myself yet, but I've heard amazing things, and it's probably what Jesse and I will do for our honeymoon!

Getting around Albania is easier, and generally much more affordable, than you might expect. Here's how the three main options compare.

If you'd prefer to be on the beach, Dhërmades Inn is Zoë Hora's sister property and only about a 10-minute ride from the venue.

Questions
It's pronounced "THER-mi." The "Dh" makes a soft "th" sound, like in the word "this."
The wedding is on September 13th. We'll share more details about plans for before and after the wedding closer to the date, but we'd love for you to take some extra time to enjoy Albania with us!
It's some of the best weather. The sea is super warm, with highs in the 20s to low 30s and minimal rain. I always suggest a light layer for after sunset, though.
We want you to wear what you feel most comfortable in! Closer to the event, we'll share a Pinterest board with some inspiration.
Just a heads up, the venue has cobblestones in some areas, so keep that in mind when picking your shoes. We'll share details for any other events closer to the date.
Albania uses the Albanian Lek (ALL). Cards are accepted in most places, but we recommend keeping some cash on you, especially for taxis and smaller spots. Euros are widely accepted too, but things are usually cheaper if you pay in Lek.
Albanian! But don't worry, English is widely spoken in hotels, restaurants and tourist areas. And you'll have plenty of Albanians around to help if you need it.
